Re-Engineering
Pinball Printed Circuit Boards
hosted by
Brett Davis
Saturday 4:00 pm -
5:00 pm
Caprock
Banquet Room (2nd Floor)
With more pinball machines migrating
from the coin-op industry to the home-owner's gamerooms, the
need for easy to install replacement boards is growing.
The average homeowner does not have the skills or tools to do
board repair, and many of the "project" pins coming
out on the market do not have the key boards to make these pins
work.
Legacy
Circuit Upgrades (LCU), owned and operated by Brett Davis, is
intent on providing solutions to the challenges associated with
board repair, upgrades, and replacements. LCU currently is
responsible for the design of all PinScore pinball display
products, which cover 99% of all numeric and alpha-numeric
pinball machines manufactured by Bally, Stern and Williams up to
the start of the dot matrix era of games. Independant
product reviews have been conducted on PinScore products in both
GameRoom (May 2008, http://pinscore.com/PinScoreReview.pdf)
and PinGame Journal (March 2008, http://pinscore.com/PGJ_review.pdf)
and have been met with rave reviews.
Brett will discuss some of the
challenges that he has faced in the development of the PinScore
products and the ongoing issues that are still being faced when
designing products to replace 20-30 year technology. There
will also be some interesting trivia questions asked and some
free giveaways.
